I do not agree with this. Photography can definitely represent much more than the present. Especially when taking photographs of specific clothing. An example of these types of photographs would be American Apparel. The clothing they sell and model looks like clothes of the future and past. When looking at the pictures you don’t know when they were taken. Some look like they are from the past, but not because they were only photographed in the past, but because they clothes fit another time era. If a style is not in, then whenever it was in is when the picture looks like it took place. Just because it was taken at a certain time doesn’t make it of that time.
